We are called to Serve, not to be Served

As Christ came to this world to serve rather than to be served, we at Calvary desire for those in our congregation to regularly serve, by the strength that God provides, both in our Sunday ministries and through outreach activities designed to care for the city of Madison and the world beyond. There are a variety of ministries you can get involved with. Examples include:

Welcome/Greeters           Children’s Ministry

Youth Ministry                 Facilities Care

Service Projects               Audio/Visual Booth

Haiti Mission Trips            Meeting Practical Needs

You can get involved serving at Calvary and throughout our community by thoughtfully filling out our Opportunities for Service Form.

Perhaps the most important way we serve is by telling others of how their greatest need has been met by Jesus Christ. Our mission, given to us by God, is to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to both our neighborhoods and the nations of the world. The hope we have in Jesus is at the foundation of everything that we do. Each time we gather together we are encouraged by God’s merciful plan to save all those who trust in Christ. This mission affects our everyday lives. Not only do we want people in Madison to hear the Gospel, but we desire for it to be proclaimed throughout the world.

Since 2006, members of Calvary have also been directly invested in taking the Gospel of Jesus, as well as medical and practical aid, to the Belloc area in rural Haiti. For information about our mission trips, contact one of our pastors.

Along with many other churches, Calvary also supports the International Mission Board in an effort to start church-planting movements among unreached peoples. In just one recent year, IMB missionaries shared the message of Jesus with 1.7 million people and started 6,200 churches.

Likewise we support the North American Mission Board as it plants new churches throughout our continent and provides disaster relief and hunger relief ministry throughout the the United States.
