Life Together

Be Known and Cared For

The saying goes, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” Getting to know others so you’re truly a part of the church community takes some time and effort. We encourage everyone to form meaningful relationships with others at Calvary by doing the following: Attend our Sunday Worship gathering regularly, get into a Community Group, find a team or ministry where you can regularly serve with others, and while doing life together be in conversations about what the gospel means to you.

At Calvary Baptist Church, we talk a lot about “doing life together.”  This is more than just a catchy phrase for us.  It is the way we capture the essence of what it means to be the family of God in Christ – the Church!  There is simply no way for us to be a biblical New Testament Church apart from sharing our lives with one another (see Acts 2:41-47; 4:32-35).  Everywhere you look in the New Testament, God is telling His people to do face-to-face life together in order to show off His glory in the Gospel of Christ (Matthew 18:15-18; 1 Corinthians 12; Galatians 6; Ephesians 4; James 5; 1 Peter 4; 3 John).  Every Christian needs to make disciples and to submit to being discipled!  Every Christian needs the love and discipline of a gospel-centered, Christ-exalting family!  We must take seriously our Lord’s command to “walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called” (Eph 4:1).  This is why we strongly encourage every believer who joins us at Calvary to “do life together.”

Bible Study Classes

The hour before our main worship gathering we offer Bible Study Classes (Sunday School).  We use this time to study the Bible together and to learn how to better study the Bible on our own. It is a time to ask questions and explore God’s Word while also getting to know one another. Classes are available for every age at their appropriate learning levels.
